Chibi Jack's sash is a strip of red and white striped fabric that is 2-1/2" wide by 32" long. I put an overlock stay stitch .5cm from the long edges and 1.5cm from the ends. This allows the fabric to fray slightly, replicating the weathered and worn look of Jack's sash. I tie the sash around Chibi Jack's waist with a simple overhand knot and secure it with a small safety pin fastened to the underside of the knot. You can now buy painted white safety pins, so it's pretty easy to hide.

The buckles I used for Chibi Jack's belts and baldric are brass stampings from Fancifuls Inc.. I'd suggest using #4791 for the dark brown belt, #4793 painted antique silver/pewter for the saddletan belt, and #4810 painted antique silver/pewter for the baldric. All three buckles fit (more or less) 3/8" leather strap. That's a fairly difficult size to find pre-cut, though sometimes you can find blanks for hatbands in that size. Tandy leather sells pre-punched strips of leather in 3/8" width as leather spacer strip. One 48" strap is enough for 2 belts.

The dark brown and saddletan belts are both approximately 19" long each. The baldic is made up of two strap pieces and a small U-shaped piece of leather. The first strap travels from the sword frog (that leather piece) at the hip up to the buckle at mid-to-upper chest level. It attaches to the buckle. The second strap attaches to the sword frog and travels across the back, up over the shoulder and down through the buckle. You may need to taper this end slightly, as the fancy buckle narrows at the ends. Strap One is 7" long, plus about 1cm for it to fit onto the buckle and be sewn into place. Strap Two is about 14-1/2" long, with a taper on the last 3 inches. Both straps attach to the sword frog with a single rivet, but they can just as easily be sewn instead. If you already have a letter opener that you plan to use for Chibi Jack's sword, make sure to fit it through the loops of your sword frog before cutting the straps down to size.
